We had a LOOOONG, hard winter here in Ohio this year. I know many people had it worse (sorry New England!) but misery is relative, right? I'm so happy the weather is finally warming up and we're having more and more warm, sunny days when my kids can get out of the house and "get the stink blowed off" as my Grandma would have said. (I always hated that expression just so you know, lol)

of your own family. I love taking pictures of kids, especially when they're just being kids. I don't like posey pictures of anyone really. I prefer natural photos of people just being themselves and their real relationships with each other. I mostly love pictures of my kids just playing and being siblings and friends.
You should definitely get out and take more pictures of your own family just being themselves. Get up high, get down low, get eye level with your kids and take pictures. Don't let them see you and you'll get more natural expressions. Or if your kids are anything like my Ginger, they will do things to get you to take their picture. "Take my picture doing cartwheels!" "I know! I'll throw this ball up in the air and you can take my picture!" "Mommy, watch this, take my picture!" Take pictures of your morning routine. Take pictures of them in bed at night after they're asleep. Just take pictures. Don't forget to get in some of the pictures too! Let your kids take pictures of YOU! Learn the settings on your camera so you can take it off "Auto" and you can utilize all the amazing things your camera can do.
If you want or need some help with learning your camera's settings, I am going to hold a workshop in June for just that reason. So many people ask me questions about how to use their camera in different situations, especially pictures of their kids, more specifically, their kids playing sports. If you click on "Store" above you can get more information and register and pay for the workshop if you would like to attend!
Let me know what you struggle with in taking pictures and get out there and take pictures! Post YOUR favorite picture of your family that you've taken in the comments! I would love to see them! Meanwhile, enjoy some pictures I took of my kids playing outside yesterday.
