April showers bring May flowers so what do May flowers bring? BORED KIDS! I don't know about you, but I about lost my mind this winter! It was rough, REALLY cold and REALLY snowy and I am not looking forward to being stuck inside all spring while Mother Nature awakens and turns everything green and beautiful! So, I need to find things to do and places to go with my kids, especially when school is out for summer! I have one place I can't wait to take all my kids; the library in Carroll, behind the Harley Davidson store at Coonpath Road and Rt. 33. You didn't even know it was there, did you? Many people don't know about this branch of the Fairfield County District Library. In fact, we stopped at the gas station there on the corner and asked how you get to the library because we knew where it was just couldn't figure out where the road was and the ladies at the gas station, right there at the same intersection, had no idea the library was there!

about it and told us how wonderful it is! It's very quiet, not busy at all and the environment is so pleasing and warm. And the best part is that they have so much to do for kids of all ages, aside from the obvious books and computers.
They have painting stations set up with easels and there are sinks nearby for easy cleanup. They have a puppet show stage with puppets, lots of little tables and chairs for tiny tushes to work puzzles and magnets and Play-Doh, a kitchen play set where kids can "cook" your favorite dishes and cut food with play knives (my daughter's favorite!) and there's even a place for baby that is sectioned off with blocks and there are fun baby toys and sensory objects galore! You definitely don't feel like you're in a library and with all the activities for children, if you're looking for a quiet place to go this probably isn't it! ha ha
My kids are ages 11, 6, 3 and 2 and there is something there for ALL of them to do! This will definitely be one place we visit during the rainy days when school is out! How about you? Where are your favorite places to go when the weather outside is frightful or you just need to get out of the house?
