You know, weather in Ohio is very unpredictable! One day it's 65 degrees and two days later, we have four inches of snow on the ground. Again. But, we got lucky this past weekend when it was time to shoot Jaclyn and Chris' engagement photos! We didn't have clear, beautiful, blue skies but the temperatures were tolerable and it wasn't too windy! This time of year I'll take that!
We began in Columbus' Short North area.
We began in Columbus' Short North area.
Jaclyn and Chris live and work in Columbus and they're getting married there as well. So they wanted to incorporate the city into their engagement photos. If you've never been to the Short North, it's very artsy.. lots of shops, little restaurants. It's bright and colorful and always bustling. There are these great arches spanning the street for several blocks and we wanted to work them into some images too! It was fun working right in the middle of the city.. oh, I forgot to mention that "The Arnold" was happening (it's only the largest fitness expo, well, maybe in the country?) and there were people EVERYWHERE! But I managed to get great images of the happy couple without too many distracting cars and extra people all around!
After the Short North, we were headed back to the venue where they're getting married but we passed a great park in between and stopped there to get a few shots as well. I give my clients 2 hours for shoots and I'm happy to spend those 2 hours however they like!
After the park (and a wardrobe change in Panera! :) we started back to Jaclyn and Chris' wedding venue. They're getting married at the Grange Audubon Center in the German Village area of Columbus. I'm so excited to shoot their wedding there and when I arrived earlier this day, I saw SO MANY possibilities for photo ops the day of their wedding!
I absolutely love the skyline in the background of these shots from the venue. Columbus is a beautiful city anyway, and to have it in the background like this made a perfect backdrop for this beautiful couple!

Congratulations on your engagement, Jaclyn and Chris! I am so grateful you have chosen me to go on this journey with you and I CANNOT wait to shoot your wedding!!
